Kindle Fire recharger also works pretty good. However, I haven't attached a billion devices to my Raspberry Pi yet, so I've only plugged in the basics (Ethernet, HDMI...). I will try more when I get inspired and think of something creative to do with my board.

You just need to look at the psu and se if it has 1200mA or 1,2A if not it will not get enogh power.(B-model) i see many psu sold for the raspberry is 1A or 1000mA.

Not as robust? it's called Ohm's law, coupled with unmatched current rating of the device and the power adapter (in other word Raspi exceeds the iPad adapter's rating). All you need is a higher current rating which means the adapter can safely deliver the power (P = V I) required under the load.

I use an iPhone power adapter with my raspberry pi, and it runs just fine at 4.65V. I'm even overclocking
