According to researchers, modern trends in eating less calories may explain why the proportion of boys is falling in developed countries.
Group at the University of Exeter and Oxford, England, looked at 740 first time mothers give birth in the UK. These people record their eating habits before and when pregnant.
They found that 56% of women with the level of the highest energy intake around the time of conception were boys, compared with 45% in women who tolerated less calories.
These mothers also had a son, then eat the quantities of nutrients and higher levels of diversity, including potassium, calcium, vitamin C, E and B12. They also eat cereal or breakfast.
The scientists said that in many animals, when the mother has adequate nutrition is also easier than boys. In artificial insemination, high glucose levels stimulate the growth of male embryos, and embryos that limit. In humans, skipping breakfast reduces the amount of glucose and create an environment unfavorable to the son.
According to scientists, mother nature has to subtle changes in sex ratio of population to adapt before the environmental movement.
"Only a small change in the diet of the mother can affect lifelong health of your baby. So very important to the mothers receive adequate nutrition during pregnancy and throughout pregnancy, "Dr Allan Pacey, fertility expert at Sheffield University, England, said.
